Pods
Why I Became a Pod Facilitator
By Liran Jakob Rosenfeld

Over more than twenty years as an entrepreneur, I have experienced the excitement of building something meaningful and the pain of seeing things go wrong. Some of my hardest lessons have involved people: knowing whom to hire, whom to trust, and how to build relationships that can hold up through difficult times.
I am still learning. But I often wish I had discovered the pod workshop earlier.
Participating in pods helped me grow as a human being. It encouraged me to listen more carefully, speak more honestly, and notice the assumptions I bring into my relationships. The experience became meaningful enough that I decided to become a facilitator and help others explore it for themselves.
A pod brings four to eight people together for three facilitated sessions, each lasting around two hours. Held online over Zoom, the sessions can take place weekly or as a weekend intensive. Through guided conversations, participants practice presence, deep listening, and honest reflection, gradually getting to know one another beyond everyday introductions.
As a facilitator, I help make room for those conversations, giving people time to speak and encouraging careful listening. My hope is that each person has an opportunity to feel heard and to discover something about themselves and the others in the group.
Pods can be especially meaningful during a life transition, when moving somewhere new, or when exploring community and collaboration. They offer time to understand the people with whom we might eventually share a project, a neighborhood, or a friendship.
For me, this work has become a personal practice as much as a way to contribute. Every group reminds me how much there is to learn when we give one another our attention.
